Key Import Guidelines

Vehicle Age Restrictions:

Vehicles imported must be within 5 years of manufacturing.

Steering Position:

Only Right-Hand Drive (RHD) vehicles are permitted.

Shipping and Port Details

• Primary Ports: Chattogram Seaport and Mongla Seaport

• Shipping Method: RoRo (Roll-on/Roll-off)

Duties and Taxes

• Customs duties and taxes are calculated based on the Japanese Yellow Book Value.

• Importers are responsible for ensuring payment of all applicable duties and taxes to Bangladesh Customs and the National Board of Revenue (NBR).

Required Documents for Customs Clearance

• Registration Certificate (Country of Origin): Confirms car registration status

• Export Certificate: Issued by Japanese authorities, required for customs

• Original Invoice: Provided by the Japanese car dealership

• Packing List: Lists all accessories and spare parts included with the car

• LC (Letter of Credit) Application Form: Necessary for financing the car import

• Inspection Certificate: JEVIC (Japan Export Vehicle Inspection Center) certificate verifying the vehicle's condition

• Bill of Lading: Issued by the shipping company detailing shipment specifics

• Condition Report: Detailed description of the vehicle’s condition (exterior, interior, mechanical)
